Howdy.

Does anyone know if half life 2 will be non linear (deus ex style) with storyline changing decisions/ multiple endings etc......

Chris

I can't find any specific links, but I recall someone from valve saying that the storyline would be linear, with a few non-linear situations that might play out differently depending on how you approach them. AFAIK there will be no Deus Ex style story-branching (which was done awfully in DE:IW, IMO).

Chriswilk....do you live in new jersey?

This is actually pretty freaky. Chriswilk201, do you go to Bergen Catholic Highschool and live in new jersey? Cuz if you do, I know you. That is, assuming your name is Chris Wilk, and the 201 in your name is for the area code we live in.

Well, back to being "on-topic", from what we have all seen, it looks as if HL2 will be linear in sotry, but I think gameplay will be more of a "multiple-choice" scenario in order to get the next part. I can see myself wandering C17 for hours, looking at the combine, at the citizens, back at the combine, etc...

It will be very much like HL1 with just more options to kill your enemies.

sorry guinny. i live in real england. the 201 bit is so theres no chance of anyone already having it so i dont have to try more times for a user name.

hehe, thats funny, theres another person in the world with your exact name and surname! what if he becomes a famous terrorist! LOL

back on topic...i don't know how's HL2 gonna be but i don't care, it will rock anyway!

There was a kid with my name (first, middle, and last) that lived in the same area code, went to the same school, and was born in the same year. He got arrested several times by the end of high school. Luckily, I managed to avoid being confused with him.

I guess it's a good idea my last name is very different, and most of it was based in Nebraska.... \=

I'd say to be prepared for locked doors, dead-end alleyways, and rubble blocking streets. Hopefully Valve's scripted sequences will be enough to keep us "immersed"...

Who knows i hope it will have some non-linear places.
