If you got it from PC Gamer or PC Games Addict, then it's a misinterpretation of an eMail in the Info From VALVe thread at this very site. VALVe never said the Strider will be rideable, but they did say they used it to basically test legged vehicles.

If it's beta info, you should know better than to post it here, and it will almost certainly be deleted.

That won't happen. During the development Valve said as a play test they'd made the Strider drivable. They have never indicated whether this will be possible in the real game. Unfortunately the ruour was exaggerated by PC Gamer, who stated that it definitely would be available. Unfortunately PC Gamer say a lot of things.

Congratulations, if you're telling the truth and Valve find out which play tester told you that information - he's going to be in a lot of trouble. You do understand the workings of a NDA don't you? It's a legally binding contract. Just be careful who both of you go telling about this play test.

And people can be traced, dude. I doubt VALVe would be particularly zealous at this point, but if there is a major leak, there'll be people trying to track the source down.

Do not use a cell phone within a 5 mile radius of VALVe. Don't speak to people wearing trenchcoats and sunglasses. Don't touch your pc for the next 6 months. In fact, stay in bed for a whole year. Don't talk to your friend about Half Life 2 or about games in general anymore.

Maybe, if you're very lucky, in about 15 years, when this will all be over and people will start to play half life 6. You can start relating with people again.

I concur with Royale (even if he was slightly excessive in his opinion). Anyone coming onto these forums and making such a statement without necessary proof just annoy me. Infact, I wouldn't want proof because that would just ruin the game.

Posting such a statement doesn't make you clever in any way. If it's true, you've spoiled the game for a lot of people. If it's false, you're an idiot. All this does is annoy people and create a lot of hassle over something which cant be proven.
