Oblivion Screenshots Thread

Still need some help here.

Also, to everyone posting full size screenshots, stop it. From now on just put up the tumbnail links.
Make sure it was the correct .ini - My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Oblivion.ini

Also, maybe your keyboard has an "F Lock" button you have to press before pressing PrtScn.

Waterwalk amulet :P

Current status of my char - Just finished getting my set of elven armor. Is glass armor still the best light armor you can get?

ZOMG! Amish is Jesus in medieval knight form!

But in all seriousness, that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen :o

Level 19? How the ****? I'm only level 5 and I have 20+ gametime hours.

It's called "Power gaming"
;)

I just hit level 10 in 19 hours.

I'm level 5 too. I can't seem to find anything to kill! :frown:

I've been closing lots of oblivion gates, I'm up to 9 or 10 so far. I found the master trainer for blades and every time I leveled, I trained 5 more points into my blade skill so that sped leveling up a lot too.

Maybe you guys are just slackers :P

EDIT: Btw, I've hardly played the main quest. I've gone to Kvatch once to do the mission there and that's as far as I've gotten on it.

On a completely unrelated note...I killed a pesky hobo in his sleep and a guy came to me in my sleep to join the Dark Brotherhood going on about how I was such a badass murderer :P It was just a hobo...

Where do you find 9 Oblvion gates? I've seen the one at Kvatch but the mission looks too hard (not tried it though).

I've probably found like 11 or 12 of them. I find them along the roads all the time when I'm on my horse cruising to my next quest and whatnot. They're not too concealed :P I've only seen 1 or 2 that are actually far from the main roads and I found them because they're near quests I had.

As for Kvatch being too hard, It's probably not. I had a few troubles in one particular room but it wasn't bad. The game scales difficulty of monsters you find based on your level. When I go to oblivion planes now there's big golems and daedra guys with enchanted weps, adult blacktooth things and whatnot.

I'm not sure how much the difficulty adjusts. It could just be monster placement or it could be how much hp something has. I'm not sure.

EDIT: Oh, and as for my playtime. I'm just about to hit 24 hours.

I've played for 39 hours and just reached level 6... ;(
I haven’t tried out the Arena at Imperial City yet, might do it tomorrow.

Closing all those Oblivion gates are the most tedious thing to do in the game imo.

What in the wide wide world of sports have you been doing? Avoiding fights at all costs? :P

Oblivion gates can get kind of tedious but there's a lot of fighting.

If you had done the Arena at the beginning you would've been lvl 6 within the first 2 hours :smoking:

Heh, well not really. I've killed over 500 creatures but didn't really understand the levelling-system until today.

I would blame my brother for that, he didn't want us to enter the Imperial City when we got out of the sewers after the death of the Emperor because he thought the city was overwhelmed with enemies... :|

I've only seen 4 gates so far, 3 of them were up north when I was **Highlight to read**killing vampires for a quest Azura gave me

Oh yeah, more screenshots of my character

Don't have any screens of my character, at least yet. But he's a lvl 17 Nord warrior type class. I use a glass two-handed sword and an elven blade/dwarven shield. I'm mainly wearing the Orcish armor at the moment.

Ok, so I edited the Oblivion.ini file in My computer >> Documents >> Games >> Oblivion folder so that bAllowScreenShot=1. Is that all you edit or is there another line of code because hitting print screen doesn't do anything for me.

Same, I edited the line and print screen doesn't work?

That should be it.

Do you have a microsoft keyboard that has other functions for the F keys? You will have to disable all that.

Nope, I've never had a problem using Print Screen to take screenshots before. Hell, to take screenshots in Morrowind you had to do the same thing, it worked fine for me then...

Damn, I guess I'll just have to ctrl-v into MS paint from now on.

I know, I know...real creative with the name...

The first enchanted item fortifies health 25 points. The second one, the necklace of the sea gives you water breathing. The third, the phylactery of litheness fortifies speed 5 points.

I'm running 800x600 with Large textures, but I was using oldblivion version 0.10 in that screenshot, and there is no sepia background in that version (normally in your TAB menu the background is shades of brown, the technique is called sepia and sometimes is used to make images look like very old photographs or aged newspaper), (the new version of oldblivion that came out today uses sepia) I also had lite brite turned on (console command tlb) lite brite makes everything look like shit because everything is the same intensity, there is no dynamic lighting on anything - but you can see really well. Even at night it's as if everything is back-lit. You notice that the first image is at night but still looks bright, and the second image is inside a dungeon with absolutely no lighting and yet it's almost white bright - hence the name 'lite brite' :) Finally, my PCI video card uses shader models 1.1. (textures don't look very bumpy) Some shader model 2.0 AGP or even PCI-E cards aren't even supported by this game! D=

The images I posted here weren't intended to be visually impressive or scenic, I wanted it to be light enough to see the 12-18 arrows stuck in us. Dx

I thought there was something about your pictures that made them look terrible. :P
