Oblivion Screenshots Thread

maybe everyone was sleeping because of that impressive radient AI :P or he'd killed them all... who knows, the mystery remains to be unravelled.

Couple screenshots of my medium settings, without bloom or HDR or anything fancy like that. Not sure what time it is in game... getting kind of dark.

The textures are on medium, thus the quality is lower, but I barely notice it.

How exactly do you take screenshots?
There is a setting in the INI file:
bAllowScreenShot=0

Open with Notepad or some such and change to:
bAllowScreenShot=1

Also, two related items for the screenshots:
iScreenShotIndex=0
SScreenShotBaseName=Oblivion

There are two INIs, one in the game folder called "Oblivion_default.ini", this is the one it uses to generate the REAL one....
My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini

Edit the first one if you want to default to having screenshots on by default for all users. The settings it uses at runtime are the ones from My Documents folder.

After you mod the INI file, you can press PRTSCN button and Oblivion will write a BMP file to your game folder.

oldagerocker.. Morrowind didn't have bloom.. WTF are you on about?:p

I thought when you looked at the sun and it glared at you that that was a bloom effect :p nvm !

The specs I took my screenshot with, were from the computer I bought for Hl2 back in September 2003.

Intel Pentium 4 2.8ghz processor with hyperthreading.
Intel D865PERL motherboard
1024 megabytes of Corsair pc3200 DDR RAM
Radeon 9800 pro 128mb

Kind of a medium grade computer nowadays. Nothing spectacular.

A bunch of mine, taken with Fraps at 1024x768 resolution (resized in Photoshop). Wanted to play at 1280x1024 but the framerate takes a major hit then. :(

Tried to give this guy a health potion but unfortunately he didn't want it. He died a few minutes later. :laugh:

My poor horse got a few arrows stuck in it's flesh, you can barely see one arrow right between the legs.

This poor fellow got a arrow that flew right through his entire body, luckily he survived.

Another angle.

All taken at maxed settings, 2x AA @ 1280x1024. If you want the originals (for a wallpaper or something), just say so.

Beautiful, just beautiful Qonfused. Thanks for posting screenshots all.

Evil parents :( I have to wait to move out for this one. ;(

Finally got the game, and I'm amazed that it can even run on my computer and how great it looks on medium

I ran this first pic through Photoshop CS

Hey Qonfused, might I ask what frames you get outdoors? My systems pretty much identical to yours and I was wondering what I would expect with similar settings. Does the FPS take a dive when you're fighting multiple guys?

25-30 FPS outdoors. 60+ indoors.

Fighting one guy takes it down to 20 or so and multiple down to 15. But it's all still playable.

Yeah, I changed it to bAllowScreenShot=1 but hitting PrintScrn still doesn't do anything.

Still need some help here.

Also, to everyone posting full size screenshots, stop it. From now on just put up the tumbnail links.
