OCD is destroying my hands.

My hand has a life of it's own. Unless I am actually spending 100% of my focus on my hand, it automatically does it. I find myself doing things and suddenly realize that I've been popping my fingers while doing it.

;(

<put's his palm on the desk and hovers over his fingers shakily with a serrated knife>

I want to do it!

I have OCD as well and ocassionally I get spontaneous twitches in my neck but it's never really brought me great pain so I can't give any real advice other than consult a doctor.

My dad has very severe, diagnosed OCD. A lot of people self diagnose and it's pretty much giving the disease a shit name.
Or maybe they know they have the disorder but don't see any point in getting professional help? I hate when people go "OMG I have exclusive rights to that disorder!". Remember that most people with mental disorders can't or won't go to doctors. If someone tells me they have OCD, I believe them because it's pretty hard to imagine some of the symptoms (rituals etc.)
