Not exactly... it's the Agroprom research institute, it's on the map I guess, look around on your pda.
The poltergeist place is the x18 lab.

Oh god.. I hated the research labs... some were just so god damn creepy.
Although I actually had fun in the zombie one. Creeping up behind them and stabbing em in the back.

I could never really get into it, all the obessive backtracking was ****ing iritating, I think once I can glue myself to it I can end up finishing it and really enjoying, but I wont try again until I get my new comp so I can knock all the settings up. I did do one of the earlier missions when you had to go into some underground facility to route out a bandit base, was ****ing creepy since I was always thought there was something stalking me.

Then I get to the final tunnel out, and just almost feel that there was something behind only to turn around and see a 'thing' staring at me before doing some crazy ass yelp and fire 'something' at me. I ****ing pelted it outta there.
 
ZT, finish the game in vanilla mode, then look for mods that add lots of critters. Apparently the game developers had to stunt the A-Life (?) system for the various beasts, because there was a good chance that they'd bork the storyline by killing someone, or not being in the right place at the right time. I forget which mod I'm playing now, but it's a frickin' safari.

There is also a mod or two that'll either shut the stuttering stalkers up, or allow you to carry a live weapon into the bar to deal with them yourself. It's annoying, but it was funny enough to start an Internet meme.

You can drag bodies?
 
You press F while looking at a body... it's pretty useless, but I found it useful too organize which bodies I've looted and which I haven't after big battles.
 
I was a loner during the whole game. No alliances and I didn't kill anyone from duty or freedom or any random stalkers around.
 
To drag bodies is F+Shift.

Right now I am on my way to turn off the scorcher.

I hate, hate, hate, the zombies. Because for some reason they seem to have a ridiculous amount of HP, even the weak armored ones. Three shot gun shots to the face? C'mon.

Anyways, at the moment I am favoring the Snorks and the Controllers.
 
Scorcher is at the... x18 lab, I think?

Acepilot, it isn't at X18, I've been there already. X16 is the place with the zombies and the giant brain.

I am pretty sure I am headed to the scorcher, I could be mistaken though.
 
I see none, just lots of enemy Stalkers, and a shit ton of anomalies.
 
If u throw a grenade at the glass the brain is in, it breaks and instantly causes .1 fps unless you turn around in time.
 
The zombies were the WORST in any game ever. I mean, they have ridiculous accuracy, have insane HP, and are basically just slightly-slow super-soldiers.
 
I dont know about insane HP. I mean they simply do not die from anything not a headshot. But a headshot of any kind kills them instantly.
 
Right now I'm pissed because I went to Pripyat and I crossed over into some area and I am being shot at by tons of soldiers and tanks, and all of the sudden some timer goes off saying a blowout is about to occur in 5 minutes. I was supposed to reach the Monolith thing, but I'm totally lost because the stupid ****ing thing wont show me where I am on the map.

Anyone know what the hell I'm supposed to do?
 
Ah, yes, the NPP.... I remember that. Basically, what I did was make a ****ing run for it to the sarcophagus(where you're supposed to go.. it's a little entry in between the two towers.) Just sprint the whole way there. Ignore everyone... once you get in it loads and no one will follow you... also, you can't kill the tanks. I tried.
 
Actually you can kill the tanks, but it took about 6 rounds of my Bulldog Grenade Launcher to take down one.

I still cannot figure out where to run. I am about to do something forbidden to me, I may.... type in the God mode cheat until I reach the Sarcophagus.
 
I gotta figure out where to haul my ass too then, because I've only got five minutes before the blowout, there's bullets flying everywhere, and I don't show up on my map =/. It's been a while since I've screamed angrily at a video game, but I've done it like five times at this part in Stalker :p
 
As soon as you enter the NPP, head west and dodge through the combat to the main facility. Hug the wall and continue until you hit a gate which will enter you into a depot. That's your target. There is a drainage pipe in the western half of this depot.

Don't bother trying to take everyone out, they'll die anyway when the blowout hits lol
 
Oh lawd. The stuff added in Oblivion Lost is terrifying.

I was walking around in the Garbage when I see this weird galloping thing. I pull out my binoculars to take a look. Ugh. I see a humanoid figure, but it's hunched over with really weird looking legs, arms and a massive neck.

I take a shot with my pistol.

Yeah it's a bit like that, but it takes a shit load of rounds to bring down. It kind of gallops lol

Usually, it only clearly explains what you're supposed to do in your PDA, and of course if you're in the middle of an attack, it doesn't help that the action doesn't pause so you can figure it out. Even the plot tends to be a complete jumble due to the open-ended nature of the game, but it's not helped by the fact that it's never really clear whether something you're doing is actually significant to the main story, or just a side-mission. Part of it might be the fact that the game's translation could be a lot better... hopefully Clear Sky makes some serious improvements to the storytelling. From what I can gather, though, GSC is completely obsessed with their graphics technology and not too much else. It's like they've made this really cool game and are so familiar with it that they forget that things aren't obvious to everyone else.

I really like the cinematics in this game, "One dees days you'll end badly Strelok" lol, I often find myself talking in a Ukrainian accent/making up Russian sounding gibberish after playing this game for hours.

They don't tell you anything. That fat guy was a really bad tutorial.
 
What the hell? I thought reaching the Wish Granter was part of the main story? I just went there and it killed me in the end. I just want to find Strelok, where the heck do I go?

Did you find strelok's stash in the beginning, and did you do the "Meet the guide" mission?

you are strelok. D: The wish granter is a machine that zombifies and kills anyone who reaches the core where there is a secret thingy by the military or some shit, which is just under it. the granter puts an image into your mind of whatever you most desire, but it really doesn't happen. What ending did you get? Was it the one where the coins come down on you?
 
No, I will not read that spoiler, more fun to find out myself. Okay, I left the zone and went back and got Strelok's stash, do I bring it to the guy in the beginning? Because the barkeeper doesn't seem to mention it when I went there.

Maybe it's too late and I messed up the continuity.

You have to find strelok's flash drive, if I recall correctly. The next strelok mission is "meet the guide". I don't remember much of it. Talk to me on steam when you need more info.
