A month ago, I was in India, and we had this guest travelling with us in our car. He is some sort of religious preacher of some kind and to us, well he is just a family friend n stuff..

The point is, he started telling us this story or secret which he claims very few people know. He said something about this guy in US (I can't remember his name), well he was some religionist of some kind and he discovered truth that Christianity was fake and that the events in the Bible were actually wrong and he had historical evidence to prove it. Somehow, some people found out about this and the US government locked him up for about 5 years or something and he was slowly killed or some kind. I swear that he said all this.

Is this suppose to be a fact, or is this just ass-wipe, or am I just missing something. Because seriously, this is what I heard. :|

Maybe he was talking about the pseudo-isidorian decretals. I dunno who the guy who got arrested would be, probably a crackpot like Clarky.

Everyone knows the Bible is wrong. It's not exactly a secret.

So we could convert all infidels to the almightly Islam! Alah akbar!

as ludicrous as your story is it pales in comparison to what the accepted "reality" around christianity is

I mean if I came up to you and said "I will die tommorrow and in 3 days I'll come back and lead us all to heaven" ..wouldnt you mash the "call police" button? so why do people stupidly trust a book that has been written and rewritten hundreds of times as the legitimate word of god?

anyways what compelled you to belive a perfect stranger half way around the world who may or may not be a lunatic?

Soulslicer is going to be killed now too... he knows to much about jebus..

It's quite simple why people become christian: fear for the unknown. It's much easier when you truly believe someone is taking care of you and you're never alone. Not even when you die.

maybe for children it's comforting but at some point in every adults life they have to face reality ..and it's not some beared white guy sitting in judgement for no discrenible reason whatsoever

You know what? For athiests, you guys sure like to preach alot. And they say christianity is a broken record.

He is some sort of religious preacher of some kind ... Is this suppose to be a fact?
There's your answer.

I refuse to face it on the grounds of it putting me in a depressive state.

****ing conspiracy theorist and religious loon all rolled into one? I've always thought hard line religious nuts and conspiracy theorists thought in very similar ways but your guy seems to take the worst of both worlds to wrap it up into his own weird story :/

Actually, this might be about the Bible stories and most of Christianity being ripped off other religions at the time. Apparently, a lot of the things like virgin conception, ressurection, saviours etc were already present in Pagan and Egyptian religions. Before, anyone asks, I heard it on that "Zeigtgeist" (sp) video that someone started a thread on a while back. Yeah, I know it had some stuff about conspiracy theories in it as well.

As for the guy getting locked up, probably just a story. I mean come on, you know how stuff like that crops up.

EDIT: Unless the whole thing's made up. That's equally likely :)
