this is just real simple, but i made this for people who have extracted the sound track and put it onto CD / iPods. jsut a nice little piece of art to accompany it.

I will just add to this that if you use this artwork then please don't use it to sell the OST. That is illigal and I have not made this to accompany people who want to make a bit on the side.

good. move the 'Audible CD 1 to the right a bit, and put 'Laboratories' underneath Aperture and it'll be even better

yeah I think I will actually.

i was looking at it and the audible CD no. 1 doesnt look right with the first bit stuck in the portal

im making an episode 2 cover also, il upload that when i do it in the morning.

check back in 10mins for the updated portal one.

I really like that one. I did one after finishing the game last night too (sad aren't we :P) cause I'm fairly anal about album art and such. Was mostly based off a wallpaper I found on DA.

Hello, thats illegal, stop doing it. Thanks.

wow, those are both pretty good. a few comments though...

regarding greendog's cover:
i like "Audible CD," but the "no. 1" sounds redundant because there's only one soundtrack to the game. maybe it should say "Original Audio Soundtrack," or just "Original Sound Track." also, i think the quote from the song should be changed to "When you're dead, I will be still alive." so it quotes the song exactly. lastly, i think that the icons would look better if they were centered in the rectangle a bit more and spaced a little more evenly. the gap between the icon of the falling figure and the portal, although i know it is meant to be there, is a bit distracting. but other than that it looks great.

regarding flammable d's cover:
pretty good, although i think a bit more bleed is needed. it looks like edges were cut too close to the image, if you know what i mean. also, i understand that you used "19/19" because of the testchambers, but maybe "12/12" would be more appropriate, as there are 12 tracks to the ost (or 13 if you decided to include the looping radio mix). other than that, this one is also great.

to the both of you, well done.

*waiting patiently for your episode 2 artwork as well* :D

...well you're at it, does anyone know a good order as far as chapter names I should rename the tracks for Episode Two? Kinda bland with the default file names.

Since they technically aren't selling the soundtrack sperately, and you did buy the licsence for the game, you can extract the files.

Even if it was (which in this case it isn't. They are privately listening to game content backed up on a CD/DVD/MP3 thingo. I doubt the steam suscriber agreement has anything that explicitly says you cannot do so. Fair use and all that.) laws in your country do not apply to everyone else. Making backups of commercial audio CDs is legal in Aus, so bl to you. Meanwhile considering you had no real contribution to the topic at hand, you should have kept your thoughts to yourself?

Ontopic: I like the covers, great work there.

first of all, thanks for your feedback. its most welcome. about the centering thing, i totally agree that the icons should be more central, im usually really anal when it comes to things been absolutly perfect center wise. i was obviously way too tired last night to care. shame on me ;)

Il sort it later and I will upload my episode 2 cover when its done aswell. probably in about 10 hours after I have finnished band practice.

while im away, any suggestions for what we can call the OST?

Audible CD no. 1?
Enrichment Program Audible CD?
etc etc.

Give me your thoughts.

Hello, thats illegal, stop doing it. Thanks.

extracting sound from something you have legally bought is not illegal, as long as you're not selling it on...

or so I believe anyway.

Did a quick update to the artwork now, so there you go. Hope thats better.

Wow. Thanks for taking my suggestions into consideration and adjusting it accordingly. In my opinion, it's pretty much perfect now, and I will definitely be using this as the album image when I add the tracks to my mp3 player. Thanks again, and great job.

"You are entitled to use the Steam Software for your own use"

He is not selling or distributing the content.

Extracting audio from a Steam cache is no more illegal than extracting a model, or a texture, or a map.

Which is to say: It isn't.

That's ****ing stupid.
