Patch Wtf?!?!?!

OMG WTF I HAVE TO ****ING REINSTALL THIS GAME BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED TO UPDATE v1.20 -> v1.21 IT WAS ALL LIKE WTF PATCH INSTALLATION FAILED. acppppppppsadaw3123

download the game off of torrent sites or soemthing Install it from the image/ISO then just use your CD key......I had to do that once

The new patch wouldn't install for me, after using all the incremental patches, so i uninstalled 2 nights ago, downloaded the whole patch and reinstalled, easy.

Oh and the case you got BF2 in, you put your DVD in there with the booklet that has your cd key and put it back in the cabinent for safe keeping and you can't lose. Otherwise they get lost/ broken, and you wasted your money...thus your fault. A little organisation goes a long way. *points and laughs*

Speaking of the patch, that Red name bug is annoying the hell out of me (which was supposed to be fixed 2 centuries ago), just last game about everywhere I went a bunch of my teammates were in Red. I ended up blasting a few poor fools in my tank since I reacted a Red name soldier running up to my tank. If only CyberPitz was there to take those bullets / tanks shells and stop the unnecessary punishments

That is a mystery to me. Especially the helis when they explode outright. They should just sink slowly, with a few seconds time to bail.

You sir, haven't watched enough Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Stalone action movies. If you have, you'd realize everything in this world is filled with highly explosive TNT / C4 / Nukes that detonate when given the slightest indication.

On a more serious note, it's likely due to the fact that DICE programmers are a bunch of lazy Swedes that couldn't bother to code in realism since they were busy eating meatballs...swedish meatballs.

It would be more realistic if the hand of god descended from the heavens, scooped up the vehicle and placed it back in your base.

Do you have SF? If you do, it might be the order in which you're installing the game and patches. I think you have to install BF2, SF, then patch... otherwise the game goes bonkers and patches will fail.

I didn't think the patches failed as much as every time you would try to open BF2 after you patched without reinstalling, the game would just die or break or something. I know when I installed SF and patched to like 1.12 or..something..I would get BF2 open, but before the login screen, it would crash.

Yeap, tried that. And I recently reformatted my HD, one of the first things I tried was to see if I could finally patch BF2, it continued to fail.

The last patch I can remember successfully installing was the one where the new Wake Island was released, but now I can't even get that to work.

Well in that case I don't know what to tell ya, I'm pretty stumped :|

Best advice would be to head over to totalbf2 forums and ask for help in the Support section, it's way more active / reliable compared to whatever EA / Dice has in place. Unfortunately that's all the help I have ..

edit: I found this link at over at TotalBF2, the main topic regards an older patch but it might have helpful tips for you to try. The thread runs pretty long so if you're dedicated you could skim through and see if anyone shared the same problem as you.
