I dont know WHY my earlier post was deleted, perhaps a mod could come and explain it to me?

Anyway, as I said before the director of planethalflife.com recently stated in a massive blowout at valve before he resigned that: "I dont believe a damn word they say anymore", and that he (Paraphrasing) "Saw things at Valve's offices when he went there that shocked him" - (But he wouldnt go into details).

Most importantly he said: "I know for a fact that material has been removed post-source leak to get the game ready for shipping". Does anyone believe this or is this just a cry for more attention???

I wrote out a long post explaining it, .... and I didnt even get to respond :/
Im not going to retype out what I did before....

a mod probably deleted your thread because it might cause uneeded rumors, but usually they edit/warn first

Your thread was deleted for two reasons:

1. The origanal post was a flame of another HL2/HL site, and we don't like that

2. This is really really old news.

3. We don't know. I personally am of the opinion that he was just throwing his rattle from the pram, but that does not reflect the opinion of halflife2.net or anyone else.

OK, ask yourself one thing:

Valve removes stuff for a release date....then delays what? 8 months? How does that mate any sence?

if Valve cut anything, it was cut because it didn't work right. Simple as that.
plainely put, fragmaster was venting, and spewing BS that he knew nothing about.

Yeh, I am personally of the opinion more and more now that most of the stuff in that post was complete rubbish.
I mean, he is just one of the steam bashers, people who cant get steam to work are retarded. Its so goddamn easy!

It could very well be true. Valve admited to taking stuff out of HL one to get the game out (it was delayed one year to be exact) and saved it for Half Life 2.

The thing is, even with material being taken out of HL1 it still went on to when many Game of The Year awards. The same thing can happen with HL2.

Some people can look at the broader picture of things and others just like to zoom in one detail and let that determine their outlook on the broader picture. Thats all.

I'm sorry to write this but in my opinion deleting the post before warning leaves more room for unneeded speculation than the post itself.

If he means dont adding things that was originally planned, I understand that, it usually happens but since Valve has not announced an exact release date yet I see little reason for them to do so.

If he means they removed stuff that was allready inmplemented, that would be stupid as it would take MORE time.

I dont respect any1 who cares to totaly slander a company/game/person and give no evidence becuase "my sources are secret" or "i cant say".

That crap got old when the Xfiles was doing it, nevermind self absorbed internet personalitities.

Because it didn't work out. And they're sure as hell doing it here as well, since there's obviously gonna be a Half-Life 3.

As they already have said, they would delay the game if it meant making the game perfect, but you can't make a game perfect if some of the content is halfassed or not supported good enough.

They want gameplay to function regardless of what video renderer you have. Which is why you can get to play the game with a DX6 or DX7 renderer.(Can't remember if it was 6 or 7). And still get most of the features, besides graphics.

The link to actual post by former halflifeplanet director isn't working, heck the whole site is down for some reason.

Fair point actually, I was a little harsh.

Did you also know content was also left out of HL1 to get it to ship on time?

And every other game/movie/tv series on the planet.

I wish these things would just go away, but then there isnt much to post at times like these lol.

His "massive blowout" was massive bullshit. There's nothing to see here. Move along.
