I'm sure we all know that Half Life supports widescreen but has anyone played in widescreen successfully? I have HL2 running on my home theater with full surround sound, on a 32" flat screen. My TV is not HDTV and it's not a widescreen.. but it is designed to play widescreen under an option called "16:9 Enhanced".

Anyway whenever I set HL2 to widescreen, it just cuts off the bottom and right side of the wide screen.. It doesn't resize to fit the whole thing on my screen. If I had an actual wide screen I'd be able to see all of it.. even when I turn on 16:9 enhanced its the same thing..

I imagine this is a hardware issue? I have a Radeon 9800 PRO 128 with the latest Catalyst drivers and the Catalyst Control Panel.. Does anyone think changing the PPI would help?

Can anyone help me out? Even if you don't know specifically, any of you who've been playing on widescreen just tell me what you did and how you got it to work....

BTW it kind of does this same thing with any resolution above 1024x768.. The right and bottom sides get cut off.. Shouldn't it resize to fit my screen? If I set it at 1600x1200 it looks great only the crosshairs end up towards the bottom right of the screen and I can't see life or health.

are you seting the game itself to run in widescreen mode? Source only supports widescreen in 848x480 and 1280x720 resolutions...
