Portal 2 source or not?

Hi, i have portal 2 and when i am gonna download a source mod, it doesnt let me. Then i press on the list of source games and portal 2 is in a portal bundle.
What does that mean? Does that mean that portal 2 doesnt count as a source game?
Another thing that i noticed is that you can not spawn hl2 objects in portal 2 because there isnt any hl2 files in it, can you change thaT?

Portal 2 is a Source game but it does not have a publicly released SDK. The last SDK released was for the Orange Box (2007) version of Source. The newer version of Source that Left 4 Dead and Portal 2 uses hasn't been released and unfortunately they don't give you access to the older version of the SDK.

The reason the Portal bundle is listed is because it contains Portal 1, which does give you the SDK. You'll need one of the other games on the list to get access to the Source SDK Base and play mods.
