For those of you who have read the reviews (Excluding PCGAMER UK for being such a crap one). You might of found out that:
Now Gman I believe was one of the administrators men, but was also an agent working for an organisation like the CIA. When the Gman found out what the administrator was planning, he told the CIA.
Troops where redeployed to bases surrounding Black Mesa, as a precautionary matter to this unreliable source. And waited for an energy signature similar to that of a small tremor (resonance Cascade), before entering the base.
Orders where given to eliminate the alien threat, BUT as the scientists and the barnies at the base still technically worked for the administrator, they where considered a threat, so they where to be "shot on site".
Although the aliens that came early in the game where there by accident (caused by unstable portals), the later stages of the game, the aliens where under the control of Dr Breen, and that is the reason why Gman doesn't get attacked by either the military or the aliens, because he's working for both the CIA and he Dr.
Gman told the scientists in the Lamda Labs, that they needed to free the alien slaves so they can work for us for predicaments later in the future. To do this, they must kill the nihilanth.
So the Nihilanth fell, the Alien slaves where free, some survivors got away and Gordon was chosen to work for the CIA. All is well, not.
Dr breen has a massive army of followers that will do his bidding, the cloned alien grunts. Although Gman and the CIA control a free Xen now, the Alien grunts set a permanent base of operation on Earth and eventually retook Xen.
There is plenty more, but I'm too tired to write.
Dr Breen has made an agreement with the powers that be, which has allowed him to grow in strength in this Oppressive world, but could caused the destruction of the human race, but he thinks that they are dirty and inefficient anyway.
