Well, its over with and man, what a blas did I have. The game took me about 20 hours to complete. I didn't feel like I rushed through it.

The experience was massive. Anyways, some opinions, thoughts and questions. Imput appreciated.

I liked the AI of the combine. I had read a review that complained that the AI was very weak. It was no FC AI but I still felt it did a fine job.

My favorite weapon was the shotgun. It deals massive damage at close range, often falling any combine in 1 shot with a double shot.

The music in some of the levels was incredible. I wished there was an option to make the soundtracks loop.

I was hoping to have more weapon variety.

At normal difficulty I felt the game was sometimes too easy due to the big amounts of ammo/items.

The ending sequence was completely lame in my opinion. The final event didnt feel like the climax of the game.

I didn't get to see nearly as much of the G-man as I hoped I would.

I think that the 10 years that Gordon is missing he spent them teleporting somewhere. In the game we have the sequence in which Allyx and Gordon are missing 1 week. Perhaps the same thing happened to Gordon from HL1 to HL2, only amplified 520 times.

Questions...

How many times do you see cameos from the G-man during the game? I can only confirm 2 sightings of him and 1 that I think it might be him. First 2 are the start and ending sequences. Third is in the car level where you can use a telescope from one of the houses to look upon a revel base. I *think* that at the top floor of one of the houses the G-man is talking with a revel.

How long do you expect for half life 3 to come out. If its using the same source engine I can't imagine the game taking longer than 3 years to develop.

I feel even more left in the dark than with HL1, but what happened to the hydra, i never did run into it. also felt striders were a bit too easy to kill. but over all the game was excellent and surpassed the first game and my expectations.

So...here i am at the end of the game, finished about fifteen minutes ago, and i can't help but feel a little cheated.

Why, you ask?

The game looked increadible, played increadibly, and was a great rid...but...it just feels like there was so much that was lacking, 'specially if you compare this game to its predicessor. Heck, at least in the original you got to /go/ to the alien planet for a while. After taking out the darkmatter thingy, i thought that's what was gunna happy--be shot off to someplace new...but, then the Gman came, and i was hoping he'd send me on another assignment, but he didn't. Then the Credits roled and i wept.

Took you 20 hours to complete...well...i did it in 15 (not to brag, honestly), and i feel just...let down by the whole experiance. It felt anticlimatic, the ending of it, because i was just /waiting/ for the next part, hoping to keep going, and when it didn't, and i thought about all we as a community has gone through for this game (a year delay is a bit much), 15-20 hours worth of gameplay just doesn't quite cut it in my book.

Great looks do not a good video game make, as illistrated by Half Life 2.

At least, that's the way i see it.

it was a planned anticlimatic ending , and it was done well,,, Ive been thinking about it for a day now... what happens to everyone ... questions galore... but thats what that kind of ending does to you!!!.. it drives you thirsty for more... and makes an imprint in your mind that you will probably find hard to forget weither your able to conciously realise it or not...

it was totally brilliant!... and makes me feel so confused.. that in a sense i feel like I am Gordon!... and it takes it to a whole new level.. its weird and wonderful. and I cant wait till HL3 :)

nah shouldnt think so,, it'll be like 2 or 3 years, atleast it better be. :/

on a side note... id love to know where the bullsquids went... I actually thought they where going to include more classic creatures.

Completed it the first day and feels a little short lived the story was short and pointless and as for the ending, crap! was expecting to go the alien planet even when being carried up to the top you see two alien monsters strolling past then after the credits come gutted!! i even watched them right threw to see if the was something after it but felt left wanting more the game was awesome for the short time but defiantly quality over quantity. Now ill go complete it on a harder level, yippy
