Well, its over with and man, what a blas did I have. The game took me about 20 hours to complete. I didn't feel like I rushed through it.
The experience was massive. Anyways, some opinions, thoughts and questions. Imput appreciated.
I liked the AI of the combine. I had read a review that complained that the AI was very weak. It was no FC AI but I still felt it did a fine job.
My favorite weapon was the shotgun. It deals massive damage at close range, often falling any combine in 1 shot with a double shot.
The music in some of the levels was incredible. I wished there was an option to make the soundtracks loop.
I was hoping to have more weapon variety.
At normal difficulty I felt the game was sometimes too easy due to the big amounts of ammo/items.
The ending sequence was completely lame in my opinion. The final event didnt feel like the climax of the game.
I didn't get to see nearly as much of the G-man as I hoped I would.
I think that the 10 years that Gordon is missing he spent them teleporting somewhere. In the game we have the sequence in which Allyx and Gordon are missing 1 week. Perhaps the same thing happened to Gordon from HL1 to HL2, only amplified 520 times.
Questions...
How many times do you see cameos from the G-man during the game? I can only confirm 2 sightings of him and 1 that I think it might be him. First 2 are the start and ending sequences. Third is in the car level where you can use a telescope from one of the houses to look upon a revel base. I *think* that at the top floor of one of the houses the G-man is talking with a revel.
How long do you expect for half life 3 to come out. If its using the same source engine I can't imagine the game taking longer than 3 years to develop.
