recording hl2

i love hl2 so i want to be able to record some stuff in it. so i got fraps (full version) AND IT RUNS AT LIKE 5 FPS!!!!!

can you help me

i am running
x800 pro 256mb
2.2 ghz amd 64bit
1024 mb of pc 3200 ram
2 80 gb hard drives on RAID

it is perfectly normal for the ga,e to drop that much, i get around 7-12 with:

1.8ghz p4
ATI 9600XT
768mb ram

I also use fraps.

but i cant play the game when the fps is that low because if i use move it is extremly choppy (and even when i dont move)

what can i do for it not to do this???

absolutely nothing, apart from lowerting the hl2 settings.
