Reskinning

Can someone direct me to a good tutorial for reskinning the models in HL2. I checked the sticky but it only to have ones for skinning your own model.

well you can extract them with gcfscape and then put them in the relevent folder to make them show up in-game. there arnt many one sentance tutorials.

Yes, but unless I'm mistaken they come out as files uneditable unless they are converted. So I'll need at least 1 converter aswell. And I'll need to know how to use them.

search google for it it aint a very hard process.

1) get gfcscape extract the file
2) download vtf2tga and convert the vtf to a tga file
3)open up photoshop edit it
4) export it and stick it ingame

post ur skins when ur done it would be cool to have more skinned work here.

Rather then doing that.... if you are using Photoshop go to Nem's tools homepage (the maker of GCFScape) and grab his photoshop plugin. It lets you open VTF files and save them directly from photoshop and it keeps all the converting out of the picture (it's a pain in the ass.) Check it out, makes it 10x easier.
