Rumors of Half-life 1 remake

Ok, I can't remember where I heard this, but I've heard rumors that there's a remake of the first half-life game coming out. I think it was called "Black Mesa". Is this true, or is it some retarded thing I just heard about?:afro:

Well the mod definatly is being created by people who take it very seriously, i'm hoping to see this mod within atleast 1-2 years, or longer (don't know how long it has been under construction).

its been in development for about 2 years already. they have taken a break currently but hopefully it will be out next year.

Its a mod of HL2, so its using the updated Source engine, meaning the great graphics and physics of the Source engine.

Much better than HL: S.

hl:s isnt much different then hl1 but bm:S is a whole remake and they have changed it up a bit.

Maybe one day they'll do a side project and make a big sub mod of black mesa and we can screw with experiments and stuff. That would be neat. Or even a mod where you play as one of the offworld units sent to Xen to collect things for study.

You're question's already been answered. Yes, you probably could've done a Google or a Wiki for it.

But it's not just some "random player". Gearbox, the creators of Opposing Force and Blue Shift were both created by some "random player".

Mmm, they have forums which I lurk in. They haven't stopped, the media releases are just quite far off.

And yet they claimed recently (well.. last month)... the release date will be this month.

Which means it's not dead... it's just going to be very very late
