I know this is a hl2 forum but I need honest opinions.


My vote goes to sam
 
No! Gordon wins.

Sam would be all sneaky and try to run up behind Gordon, but Gordon would hear him with his HEV-enhanced ears and know he was coming; he swings around and simultaneously both snaps his neck with the crowbar and shoots him in the face.
 
No, Sam has just got his new knife he would block the crowbar with his knife, then stab gordon through his HEV suit spilling gore everywhere.

Sam wins.
 
For all we know Gordon could be a robot :O he has no personality, Sam actually has a personality. :p
 
Yeah and Sams suit has 4 vision modes on it so he could see gordon at night, through a wall, or from far away with his built in zoom. Also he has a SC 20k shotgun thing to help him out.
 
Well sam would take gordon out before he got close enough with the crowbar because he would be able to see where he is coming from due to gordons complete lack of any stealth ability
 
Sam can be taken down like nothing if he's spotted. Sam has those ridiculous 3 glowing eye things that pretty much give away his position if Gordon has any common sense.
 
sam sneaking around with night vision on, gordon thinks "hey, three little glowing things" *turns on flashlight* sam: "gahh! turn it off!!!!" gordon: *takes out sam using a variaty of his arsanal: gauss, crowbar, super gg, 375, crossbow*

yea but the toaster thats built into the hev suit would fry sam and besides,sam would yell IMGONNAKILLYOU and gordon would mow sam down with the pulse rifle

from Splinter Cell, which pales in comparison to HL2.

See, I was like the only person in the first ten posts (making me a rebel and therefore awesome) to support gordon!

Then bliink busted in and now suddenly it's cool. ****ers bringing in the mainstream! ;)

Sam is cooler, but Gordon would kick his ass easy.
 
full on frontal assault always beats stealth. unless of course, the stealty person has cloaking or is completly invisible, but those 3 dots do give away sams locale. but gordon could just nade the whole area or put trip mines or just spray, doesn't sam just have a pistol and martial arts

Don't forget a knife, SC 20k rifle with launcher (one sticky shocker would take gordon down), NSA training, very good acrobatics, and some informants watching his every move.

Ahem.

Gordon can take multiple hits from a Vortigaunt, which, based on both games, has a stronger lightning attack (kills rather than incapacitate) than the sticky launcher.

By the time Sam fires his sticky launcher, Gordon would have done some sort of gravity gun thing.

Suit that can withstand bullets and attacks by an antlion guard ramming at full speed > Martial arts and some backseat drivers

Gordon would manipulate those stupid goggles right off Sam's forhead, making him blind. Then Gordon would roll a grenade responding to real physics at Sam's feet, because physics don't play any part in Splinter Cell, Sam would be completely confused and subsequently blown up.
 
Sam's all shiney and covered in lights. With Gordon's HEV-enhanced vision, he doesn't stand a CHANCE.

Plus Gordon's in HL2 and Sam isn't.
 
Anyway, they wouldnt fight unless the G-Man wanted them to, and in that case, Sam would most definitely be doomed.
 
Uhmm, Sam would probably stab the g-man, well actually it depends if it's hl1 time or hl2 time. If hl1 time gman has a invisible shield, if its hl2 time then sam is fine.
 
Gordon took out a whole hord of aliens, blew up the combine fortress, took out genetically modified human soldiers, normal human soldiers, and female assasins who could go invisible (and in my opinion much more capabable than sam) who do you THINK is gonna win?
 
sam fisher is a cool guy, but he doesn't come close to mr freeman :P

Sam is a military type, greying guy, simple, kinda cocky; has joined up with an agency designed to kill people. He carries a Sony Ericsson PDA.
Sam is involved with terrorists. *yawn*

Gordon is a theoretical physics PhD who was involved in a big explosion in a facility in the desert of new mexico; he wears glasses and has a beard. He never talks.
Gordon is involved with some seriously messed up science, and crap like I've never seen before.

Gordon is a far better character. In the world of comic books, and video games, the best character wins.

Gordon > Sam
 
Do any of you really think that Sam could take out a strider.

*Sam is sneaking in on the strider and...SNAP trying to snap the striders leg. Strider cuts it´s leg trough Sam and slings him ten blocks away!!!!*
 
If Sam didn't hide so much he'd owned faster than a little boy getting crushed by a fridge.
 
Hiding and sneaking are two different things, dear boy. Fisher rules.
 
Sam and Gordon are two completely different people, Sam is a stealth character, Gordon is a one-man army. A better match-up would be Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake - Or Gordon Freeman vs The Doom Marine.
 
LETS SEE....
If Gordons in a Splinter cell type skirmish i.e. level etc. First of all gordon doesnt have a helmet and so *snap goes his neck!* and a shot to the head would kill him anyways.

If Sam was in A HL2 type skirmish then he would have no chance as Gordon has his suit and a big aresnal etc. therefore Gordon would be the Victor.

So the only real way to solve it is strip them both naked and have a fight to the death. hmmm...


I think Sam would win coz Gordons a nerd really, and Sams gotta loadza combat experience and has been laid, whereas Gordon being a nerd probably hasnt!!
