server.cfg for hl2 dm on linux

I recently put up a hl2 deathmatch server
i can not find the server.cfg anywhere in the directories on the server
does someone have a sample server.cfg file?
and let me know what dir on *nix it goes in?

I did get it running but id like a cfg file
or does the hl2 server use a different type of file?

it worked and i put it in
/hlds_l/hl2mp/cfg and it fired and worked fine
