well I just got shadow of the colossus and its a really good game. It has really nice graphics and a gameplay style I wasn't expecting at all.

But I'm stuck on that confounded sandworm colossus, how do you beat it?

You have to figure out its weak spot--beating it after that is cake! Enjoy! :|

I'll tell you, but it would be better if you figured it out on your own.

SPOILER

Get on your horse, run away from it, use your bow to shoot backwards into its eye.

pff, I did that already, but it did nothing. I guess I missed its eye.

You missed, that's how you're suppose to beat it. But honestly, spend some time and figure it out on your own, looking up a FAQ on how to beat these monsters pretty much eliminates half the game. Not to mention it's much more satisfying when you finally figure it out and manage to defeat it, there's an actual sense of accomplishment bring down those gigantic beasts.

Well its not much fun running around for two hours trying everything I can think of. Besides the primary purpose of this thread was to discuss the pure awesomeness of this game, its fantastic!

The trick is to think simple and think logically.

And yes, the game was pure awesome. If there were any games that would be considered works of art, this one would be up there. I loved how they left many parts of it up for interpretation rather than spoonfeeding you all the plot.

game wins, some of the best art direction and level design i've had the pleasure of playing, the replay value is a bit pants though.

Yeah, Dirge the Sand Tiger was one of the less interest bosses. But I've got to say, they get more and more epic. The last few fights are just...wow...

(SPOILERS!!!!!!!)

Fighting the lion in the ancient city was awesome, because of the sheer scale of destruction.
Then Phalanx the trail drifter was just so awesome because it was so beautiful, just standing there in the dunes watching that mile-long behemoth floating lazily in the desert sky.
Then of course, the final boss, Malus.
Well, I was afraid that the final boss would not be as impressive.
I was wrong.

you have to play it another time on Hard.
still, not buying it because of replay value is like not buying a painting because you've just seen it.

Yeah, Hard mode adds new weakpoints to the enemies. Also, you can unlock new weapons in both Normal and Hard time trials. Theres the secret garden you can climb to. Theres tons of fruit and lizzards to kill if you want to expand you health/strength. I'd say it definitely has more replay value than most single player games.

Secret garden, where?
at the top of the shrine, where the game ends basically, you can climb there but you need alot of strength.

Totally agree with you on everything. Awesome game, replay value stinks though. Love the music in this game though.

The music's great. I actually got the CD for it and it's really awesome.

I believe so, yes. I'm usually a PC guy but you really do need a console controller for a game such as that (particularly all that hanging on while the monster goes apesh*t).
