A person kept telling me how awesome this skins show from the UK is. So I finally checked it out and watched the first season. I don't think I've seen a show like this before, it really is awesome. It can be really funny but at the same time really dark.

Anyone else see this? If not you need to. From doing a search now it looks like they are making a american version but considering it will be ran on MTV it's probably going to suck.

I also can't believe what they let you put on TV in the UK, wish it was like that here.

It's good mate, are you going back to watch from series 1 (recommended)

Also, skins is pretty tame in comparison to, say, Shameless (another favourite of mine).

Yeah, I started from the first episode. Look forward to watching the rest of the seasons. I'm might have to checkout shameless some time too, I ran out of American shows to watch and you Brits seem to know what you are doing in this regard.

First two series were good, third and fourth were entertaining I guess. The concept has become stale though, I won't be watching the new series.

So you haven't seen any more of the recent ones? They get a mostly new cast after series 2, but it's just as good.

You may / may not like Shameless. It's not really similar, it's comedy for one, but it's quite specific British comedy (council estates, etc). Come to think about it, I don't know why I made the connection, just two shows I like I guess.

Worth a watch, if you're at a loose end TV wise.

Damn good show, barring the American remake coming out soon. Exact same dialogue, shittiest acting in existence.

^ After watching half of the second season I couldn't disagree with you more. This is hardly a teenage show.

It is. It's on our teeny channel E4 in the UK, just after the JLS Live Tour, Glee, or a Take That Special.

UK soaps have cancer and dead baby story lines everyday at 7/8pm. Skins is nothing dark.

I guess I'm just not used to what you guys put on TV. A side from the fact that this is based around teens this isn't your typical lame teenage drama that we see around here. If anything it reminds me a bit of Kids or even Requiem for a dream. Although based around teens they are hardly movies meant for only teens.

Most of my adult friends watch skins.

In Scotland it's not adult unless everyone is shooting up and drinking Tennants super.

First and second seasons were awesome, not sure if I watched much of the third mind.

Yeah, the first generation (series 1-2) were great, particularly Chris. Watched a bit of series 3 but most of the characters were annoying.

Yeah, I just finished the third season. Not even close to as good as the first 2. I might get around to the 4th one eventually but the show lost its greatness after the second season.

I've got the boxset for series one and two. I've watch all of series one
the guy who pretty much stalked Sid was creepy as f**k!
but I haven't yet watched all of series two (the disks didn't work properly on my computer for some reason). I've not seen any of series' three or four but I might check them out. I think series five might be worth a watch though. From what I've read the new characters sound pretty interesting. Tbh, when Skins was first aired I was always watching Nearly Famous which was on the same time. I have to say I prefer Nearly Famous but Skins is still good.
