Does anyone care at this point? I wanted to try it when they first came out with the beta since all the buzz it created but by the time I was offered an invite I simply didn't care anymore. I care even less today.

I don't know any of my friends that have made the switch from facebook to it and most people that I talk to that have facebook have no idea what Google+ even is. I don't know why Google always does these dumb beta releases where nobody but a select few are invited, they did this with Google wave and it was a total failure. In this case trying to build a social network on an invite only basis is beyond dumb but amazingly they didn't learn their lesson from Wave.

Signed up yesterday and it seems pretty nice so far but I've yet to add any friends as I'm still setting up my profile. I'll still be using Facebook though.

I have two friends on it, only one of which ever uses it. Not that I use facebook much more though, to be honest.

I didn't bother with Google+ because I check my facebook once a week at most, and I know I would NEVER bother checking G+. Also, I don't need any more of my personal information mined for selling me shit that I don't need.

Damn I wish Google+ takes Facebook's place but it won't happen. Nothing is gonna beat the shitty, bugged and heavy Facebook now. Created an account and Google+ felt so much lighter and simpler.

I'd love it to gain steam but people are too ingrained in Facebook.
Then again they said that about myspace too.

Google is horrible at advertising anything. So I expect + will fall on it's face.

That is a great irony, they advertise just about anything but themselves well.

I really like google+. What I like about it is it isnt full of idiots telling me how they are hung over or what they are eating. Most people on there seem to post cool tech infomation and ted talks etc. Just more interesting.

The annoying thing is that I get reminded of everything twice on my email account. First I get an email about everyone that adds me, then I get a little red number up in the corner reminding me of the exact same thing. Since the email is on google's platform anyways, could they not just cut it down to one reminder per event. Also the layout doesn't fit into my 1024X768 netbook screen.

Requiring a real name = fail.

Twitter wins in that respect, and FB is where all the people are.

They also did it with Gmail and look where that ended up. TRASH HEAP OF HISTORY!

The only people in the world who are genuinely interested in this are people working in Search Engine Optimisation, because they're pretty sure that Google will make Google+ influential in how the listings are sorted.

Tells you all you really need to know about it all really.

It seems better than Facebook but none of my friends are actually using it so it's useless.

MySpace sucked the big one and that's why FB succeeded. Everyone still like fb (for the most part) and have Jo reason to switch. Google + just isn't compelling enough on its own right.

I have virtually no interest in Google+ right now. Especially if it spams you about updates / tries to connect with gmail at all. I tend to keep email and social network stuff separate -- I never really email the people I actually talk to on Facebook/in real life.

It's okay, guys. Facebook went ahead and stole most of its unique features anyway.

Although that's a good point Gmail had something at the time nobody else did, 1GB mailboxes. This was a unique feature that created a huge amount of buzz.

Also, although it was invite-only for a while, they gave out the invites like candy, and people mailing them to friends was probably a decent form of advertising.

If you're all that pissed about no-one using Google+ then why don't you just add each other to your circles and start using it? I'd join in, if only to spite Facebook.

Social Networking can still suck me, actually someone tell me when they invent a site that can have random people on the internet suck me, then Social Media will be awesome
