Twas a Zelda-esqe game for the Mega Drive (Sega Genesis for you Americanians). Instead of equipment you collected a following of animals, each with their own abilities. Your dog will attack enemies for you. A cheata will make you run fast. A dodo will amplify the abilites of other animals. A penguin gives you a freezing ability on your sword while something else (can't remember what) gives you a fire ability on your sword (mixing these two has some odd results).
You start of as a boy who inherits his father's sword on his 14th birthday. You go off to fight monsters who terrorize the land but the story is far from black and white. I used to love this game, I played this game before I could read properly (Not a good thing for a game with alot of dialoge, all text based >_<) and I must have completed it 20 times. It also features a cameo from Sonic the Hedgehog.
Anyone else ever played this game?
BTW
European Box Art > American Box Art > Japanese Box Art.
