Sound cards

Alright, so it's my birthday in 10 days :afro: and the only thing I have yet to upgrade on my comp is my soundcard. Right now, I have a reeealy crappy "soundblaster live value" from, like '98 or something. And I was going to get a new one for my bday.

how much better is the sound quality on a soundblaster Audigy 2 ZX than on my soundblaster live? Is the Audigy2 ZX worth my money?

Also, how much better is the Audigy2 zx Platiunum than the regular zx? I don't want to waste any more money than I have to, you see...

Audigy 2 ZX Is kick ass many danddy reviews.. GET IT WILL U CAN AND MAKE SURE u got a 5.1 surrond system at least ...u wont be disapointed :afro:

I just bought the Audigy2 ZS a few days ago, I was using a reguler Audigy before. All I can say is WOW! All of my music, movies, games, etc sound much more crisp and much more solid and stable, so if you are upgrading from that old card, I'd say YES! Definately! Also, the platinum doesn't add a whole lot of features that you would probably use so go with the standard Audigy2 ZS. I hope you have decent speakers to hook up to em

awesome, thanks guys. My speakers are so/so,(only a 3.1 system) and I probably won't upgrade them along with the card...so that could decrease the quality a bit...But yeah, I'm definatley going to get a new card since my old one has alot of glitches and problems with higher bitrate audio, and with newer games.
