(spoliers) Anybody fancy giving me a break down of the story?

My PC is bust and i won't be replacing it any time soon, also unless Gabe gets his million dollars i won't be playing it on my mac thus no episode 2 for me.

Would anyone care to enlighten me on all the important bits of the story?

i can enlighten you to the whole plot of episodes one AND two:

blowing up the citadel has created a really big portal the combine are gonna use to reinvade the planet...... oh wait not to worry we just fixed it.

We find out that alyx has been carrying data with her from the Citadel that enables the resistance to close a newly formed portal above city 17 that the combine are trying to open, so they can re-invade the area. We're then tasked with the mission to take this info to the resistance base.

Early on in the game however, Alyx gets nearly killed by a Hunter (new enemy) and a vortiguant shows up and starts taking care of her, but they need something from the antlions first if they are to mend her wounds. We go down underground and find a hive extract from the antlions for the vortiguants to use on Alyx in order to save her life.

As the vortiguants all chime in to do their alien magic on Alyx, Gordon gets mindprobed by the Gman and the Gman does his shady speech thing. Once Alyx is no longer near the brink of death, you start heading back to the resistance base and during the way you get hunted by the combine and assorted zombie pests.

The frantic journey to the resistance base eventually culminates in a massive fight where you have to defeat several striders and hunters who are trying to annihilate the base. Once you've done so, the scientists at the resistance are able to launch a rocket/satellite into space thanks to the info Alyx and Gordon brought them, and this rocket later shuts down the portal above city 17 and presumably halts the impending invasion.

As we think the immediate threat is over, Alyx and Gordon are tasked to go to the newly discovered Borealis, a science vessel containing some terrible secret that Eli wants to destroy. They head for a chopper when suddenly two combine advisors pin Gordon and Alyx and Eli to a wall (using mind powers) and then they brutally kill Eli infront of you. DOG lunges in and scares the advisors away before they can do the same to alyx or gordon and the game fades to black as you see and hear alyx hold Eli in her arms, crying over her dead father.

Beyond these major events there is still a lot to be told

I can't remember the Gman speach much, but Eli sure did.

It seems gman isn't as evil as we (or at least i) thought, though i do wonder, why were the vorts going against him in ep1? Also, remember that SS of him that was earlyer posted as a preview? That was black mesa.
