If Bosnia was divided between Croatia, and Serbia during the war for Croatia's independance, do you think the people in modern day Bosnia would be better off? (Pretending that there was never any Bosnian sense of nationalism) Historically Bosnia was just land given to the Muslim Turks by Austria-Hungary, which forced the population to become Islamic/a political border in Yugoslavia.

Yes, Bosnians as a nation doesn't actually exist. but still, those 10 years should have created some sort of national pride in them. Americans don't exist either, there are only english, spanish etc. but still there's the "American pride".

wut wut WUT?!

Eh, they gave a state (Actually, a UN administered autonomus region, though the US recognises it) to a bunch of Albanian Muslims led by a band of gangsters with links to every criminal organization in Southern Europe who decided to live in Serbia. Why not hand countries out to the people who didn't choose a side in the Balkan Wars.

How about we reinstate Yugoslavia? I've about had it with quarreling Balkanese.

I think that we (meaning I) should annex this country, whereever it is, for their protection and freedom.

Serbia mimics the actions of Russia. And yeah, Kosovo is a really stupid country. 2/3 of it live below the level of poorness.

Americans are most certainly not British.

Forced islam onto population? Wtf are you talking about? Do you know anything about Yugoslavia and the state it was in before the war? Ever hear of Socialism/Communism?
Religion didn't play a role in any ****ing thing nor was it encouraged while Tito was around.
Yugoslavia used to be a great country under Tito's reign. People were encouraged to build bonds and procreate with each other regardless what their nationality or religion was.
Once Tito bit the dust, the country went down the shitter. What did anybody gain from all the wars that came after his death?
Poverty, Corruption, tarnished reputations and a shitload of deaths. I just hope that my and future generations of ex-yugo's
learn from this. If anybody is going to rebuild those countries, it's us.

I didn't say religion had anything to do with it. I was talking about the history of the region, how it's only just Serbian, and Croatian land which was traded to the Ottomans, who converted the natives to Islam. I was pointing out that I feel it's nothing more than a silly administrative border who doesn't have much independant culture or history from the two peoples. It's like someone divided two identical people (North Korea, and South Korea.) I know religion was not the reason the modern Bosnia was created, and about Tito led Yugoslavia.

edit: I know a few people who've had to immigrate from the "great" nation of Yugo-Slavia pre war because they were living in poverty, my Mother being one of them.
