Play-testing Day of Defeat: Source has taken over the Valve offices. We're expecting DoD fans and new players alike to have a blast with the game when it's released later this summer. Polishing work is being done right now on the player animations, as well as lighting work on the various maps. Current favorite features include the new grenade stun effect, and the ability to deploy the machine gun on any surface.

In other news, HL2: Lost Coast (the upcoming free Half-Life 2 map for Half-Life 2 owners which showcases HDR rendering technology) is nearing completion and will be released soon on Steam. We're going to include a bit of extra content with Lost Coast, which we haven't mentioned yet... watch this space for details.

me want lost coast now !

I'm most interested in this, "extra content," to be included with Lost Coast.

I mean, what the hell else could they possibly add to the Lost Coast...or do they mean the actual big Lost Coast update? HLDM:S?

I wish it was Team Fortress 2. But i know that won't be the case.

Ah... DOD:S... it looks oh so much better than what we saw a few months ago.

LOL, maybe they should have stuck with the old models...

Jk jk jk, I'm sure they'll look awesome in motion, and once all the "polishing work" is done.

I just thought the models looked...not gritty enough...and just plain not-real looking, but whatever, I'm just being picky :p

Hmm, the new models look too clean and don't look like they have enough equipment attached, but other than that, thats a damn good improvement, now give me my ragdolls!

A new weapon.

I'm sure of it.

There's 20 mins gameplay in Lost Coast - just enough time to discover a new weapon and toy around with it. Then Valve will add it to HL2DM's roster.

Im with you man, the only thing that would be a cooler release of information would be news on aftermath. Theres always that little voice in my mind that says its for sure news on TF2, but again its a real little voice.

I say its HL: DM S. VALVe mentioned it a while ago saying they were going to implement it, this is the perfect time to release it.

HL: DM S? It's like Half-Life Deathmatch with HL1 graphics or what? :p

And that voice is speaking the language of VALVe, and you don't understand wtf it is saying...
