Steam, what NOT to do

I was talking to a guy in school today who said he had HL2. He then said that he uninstalled it because he couldn't play multiplayer and claimed that you have to pay a fee to play MP. I finaly got it out of him that he had gotten the 'Steam ticket has expired' bug and tought that was what it meant and he couldn't re-install because he broke the CD!

With the new options for buying Half Life 2, it is entirely possible that he did buy only HL2 and not HL2 + HL2DM, which makes -you- the "noob" for not knowing about these options.

he can reinstall...the last time i even saw my hl2 cd was in november 2004..after that I just redownloaded off of steam through my steam accnt and it ran its updates

Substitutes like "dumbass" and "fatty" work well.

EDIT: Oh and n00b comes from newbie, which comes from new being.

Some idiot most likely degenerated newbie into n00b, and now it's commonplace, sorta like pwned. I remember back when we were all saying newbie, and using the word n00b or n00by was a big no no. One of the worst sins of all time.
