Stuck on level (lame!!) need a little help!

I'm new to the forum this is my first post, wish I had found the forum earlier cos I've been having some problems getting HL2 to work offline... and still it only works offline when it wants to!!

Ok... I know this is probably a little lame, but I am stuck!! Cannot find a way out for the life of me, so I am hoping a few of you clever dudes will be able to point me in the right direction!!

I am on the route Kanal level and I am in a room which you fall into from a ventilation shaft and when you do around 20 of the flying blade things (can't remember their name) come out one by one of a vent on the opposite wall. (This photos are pretty rubbish as I didn't know how to do a capture a shot from the game and the only camera I had to hand was my phone!!)

This is the Room.

Down the ladder to the left is this room...

This is the walk way to the right...

This room is at the end of the corridor on the right hand side of the walkway photo...

And this is whats in the room...

I've tried stacking up barrels below the vent the Flying things come out of and the one in the lower room, blown up the barrels and searched every where and nothing!!

If anyone has any ideas post 'em up and help me get off this level before I give up completely on HL2!!!

Did you actually use a camera to take pictures of your monitor? Ha. Oh man.

Next time, press F5 to capture screenshots then upload them using something like Imageshack.

Well, to answer your question, go down the ladder and turn some valve. That will trigger water to rise. Then go back up the ladder and get outta there. The rest should be easy.

Thanks for the quick reply joule!!

There's definatly no valves in that room even under the water.. theres nothing but that big hole which you can see in the photo's, and thats too high to reach! I have been in a few other rooms that had valves like that, but this doen't seem to be one of them!!

Uhh you can actually see the valve in the lowest pic

dont have time to start paint, and circle it atm, but its right in the middle.

This part was where I was stuck for the longest time myself so dont worry, do what the man said.
