stuck on ROUTE KANAL

Hi there,im new to the game and stuck.not sure what to do here or if indeed i need to be here at all.the attached screen shots will show you the level im stuck on http://www.freewebs.com/bobbytinn/halflife2screenshots.htm

If i remember correctly, you have missed something out....

Where you took your screen shots if you look to your right, you need to be back through the railings you see in front(if you go back the way you came in). Once you are on the other side, then near th bottom there is one of those turnwheel valve things you need to turn, from there it should all make sense(i don't want to walk you through it too much)

I believe this is correct.
