Team Fortress 2 for free?

Maybe I'm delusional, but I could have sworn, when I paid 100+ bucks nearly 2 years ago for my Half Life 2 Package (the highest Steam account you could get, came with soundtrack, hat, and guidebook), that Team Fortress 2 was listed as one of the additional games I got.

I can't find a record of this anywhere. Maybe I'll look for that box that everything came in. But I remember telling my wife, "Look, it comes with TF2 when it's released as well!", to help persuade her in letting me purchase a game package over 100 bucks.


So, before I go looking for that box (it might not even reveal anything), does anyone remember? Or am I just a freaking loon?

day of defeat source was released about 6 months after hl2 was released css came with hl2 on release heck it was a beta before. tf2 was never even mentioned in hl2s release. it will only be with hl2 ep2, but it could be standalone later.

The likelihood will be, the Episode 2 & Portal & TF2 combo will be the only choice for a while, then Valve will single out the various games later on. Kerching perhaps, but i personally really want all 3 Anyway, case solved.
