The Half Life 2 DirectX Comparison

I was just looking over that and i have to say .. hmmmm. lol
I dont have the best system in the world but i dont have the worst either, i run HL2 in DirectX 7 mode and ive played on 9 and have to say, ok theres a big big difference but to be honest im not too bothered about the gfx, i like directx7 no matter what other people think because i have adjusted to them, i will be buying an ATI Radeon x9800 Pro 256mb after xmas though. What about you guys ?? What do you run it on and did you upgrade your system especially for HL2 ?

I don't have the game yet, but I am planning to upgrade especially for HL2 - my R9000 isn't getting any younger and when I saw the water on DirectX9 I made my decision I'm going to get R9550 soon and overclock it to ~R9600Pro

Hmm, im not going to upgrade just to have better gfx on hl2, ok im getting a new gfx card after xmas sometime, but that aint just for hl2 lol
