Post what album you think is perfect

Note: This has nothing to do with an album being GOOD, Zeppelin 4 is a good album but it doesn't flow together well so it's not perfect, the best example of a perfect album is Dark Side of the Moon, the whole album flows well, no bumps, the songs go better as a whole album rather than one by one

My votes: Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie

DSotM is an awesome album, but it does have 1 floor, "The Great Gig In The Sky", the only song on the album I skip. It wouldn't be too bad if it was shorter but it goes on for 4 minutes.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any perfect albums, everyone I've personally come accross has been flawed in some way.

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Songs perfectly blend together.. to the point that it builds up to a massive climax in Eternal Life.. mmm
:D

I could mention all sorts of albums, but the one at the top would have to be Tool's Lateralus. It has a perfect flow IMO; it's all one big build up until "Triad". :D

Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children, at the moment.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral would be my second, once again, as of right now.

SAW2 easily.

Yeah, can't forget forget about that. It's a ****ing headtrip, as well as SAW 85-92. Think I may have a listen right now...

edit - I love this ****ing album.

Yeah, both SAW albums have a real good flow to them. I think SAW2 edges the first one out because of its consistent palette and feel, but SAW1 seems like he effortlessly peeled out great track after track.

I considered saying drukqs as well, but I think its very sequencing makes it too uneven to call "perfect".

Oh yeah, Tri Repetae from Autechre qualifies too IMO.

Any of Jean Michal Jarre's albums... especially Aero. You put that on while you sleep and you feel... strange...

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf

dream theater - scenes from a memory

spinal tap - smell the glove

(i cant think of any others atm :()

well, I don't think such a thing exists - and if it does, its purely based on ones opinion.
anyway
wilco - yankee hotel foxtrot.

Califone - Heron King Blues
BOC - Music Has The Right..
Animal Collective - Here Comes The Indian
Cliche I know, but My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Casino Versus Japan - Whole Numbers Play the Basics
Isan - Meet Next Life
Freescha - Kids Fill the Floor
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
Hrvatski - Swarm and Dither
Kiln - Thermals
Windy and Carl - The Dreamhouse
Manitoba - Up In Flames
Radiohead - Kid A
Squarepusher - Music is Rotted One Note

So many more :( I can't list them all here

Agreed absolutely. Perfect album IMO.

SAW2 easily.
Agreed here too. There's just nothing comparable to his SAW releases.

I'm also going to agree with the OP here and say that DSOTM was an incredible record for it's time, and perfect in every way. I even loved Great Gig.

I might get a lot of shit for saying this, but personally I feel In Your Honor by Foo Fighters was amazingly good, and pushing perfection.

The album that I played the most has to be Prodigys 'Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned' ... Seconded by Snow Patrols 'Eyes Open'

Daydream Nation by the Sonic youth is up there.

The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium

As well as a few of the others already brought up (DSotM, Scenes from a memory, Downward Spiral)

Aye, that and Frances the Mute, too.

tool - 10,000 days :p

I have to agree to an extent. Some songs seem out of place, but certain combinations are golden (10,000 Days to Right In Two). So almost the whole album... but meh.

I have to give a mention to Untitled by Autechre. Every song is loud, pounding and in your face and each song leads to the next quite nicely.

best description ever

I find Revelations by Audioslaves hangs really well.

Killers Hot Fuss.

Not really a huge fan of them, but that album is solid through and through

but the winner for me is

Mansun, Attack of the Grey Lantern.

If you don't know why you've either never heard it, or heard the utterly rubbish american version of it.

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine

One of the best albums of the 1990's.

Blue Phantoms' Distortion is probably the best mix of styles I've ever heard. 1971 kraut rock for the win!

I'd agree somewhat with this list as it's all been voted by thousands of people.
Not that it's relevant, but I looked up reviews of The Downward Spiral, and some of these people are idiots. One person called Closer "a pediphile's best tool for luring in 13 year old drama queens. laughably unsexy to anyone of any sexual maturity."

:|

I am actually kind of angry right now.
