I will be for sure. I loved the mod for half-life but didn't feel like spending money on a game I didn't know I would like.
 
I have never played this mod and I will never buy the mod. From what I've seen its buggy as heck. But I will play something that is free though! :laugh:

hmmm can't seem to start the pre-load...anybody else have this problem? I clicked the link on that page and it opened steam but nothing else...
 
It says "thursday nov. 2nd to thursday nov. 5th." Did I read that wrong, or did somebody screw that up real bad?

You are given a quarry and you must kill them without the other players seeing, or CCTV seeing. You get monies for doing so! You also must keep your hunger/toilet needs/sleep in balance by moving around the ship. You put yourself at risk doing so, but you can find weapons and all sorts. It's really fun.
 
anyone gotten the pre-load to work yet? I finally got to the pre-load stage...but the progress bar haven't moved at all....servers down?
 
I took part in the beta test. It's definately cool, but not the type of game that I enjoy.
 
You forgot the "I own it already" option...

I own it, should be fun to beat you noobs horribly Muaahahaahaha!
 
Definetely checking this out even though I was in the beta for it... Maybe things have changed a lot since those days.
 
Hell yeah I'll try it. Havn't had the money to buy it, so I figured, might as well Try!
 
Mmm... tempting, but I doubt there're any NZ servers up and active.
 
I'll definitely try it. I may even host a server tomorrow for HL2.netters when it comes out, to test out my new FIOS upload speeds :) :)

EDIT: awww, only for 3 days? Well, should be good enough time to sample it anyways!
 
It's a good game, just I never feel like playing it... tis wierd.
 
Damn it, I've been waiting for this trial for ages. Finally when it comes I'm going to be away. Grrrrr.

Perhaps I'll catch it Sunday evening. When does it finish?

1pm PST, what that in GMT? Never mind, it's 8 hours behind GMT, so I should have time to get a few games in.

haha, I noticed that too...I got really confused, and just realized it had to be quite a large type-o.

So are you people wanting to just join random servers, or are you guys interested in playing with other hl2.netters? I could test how well my upload speed can handle a server for us... and i'll keep my computer on during all three days.
 
I'll be lucky to find servers which don't lag let alone coordinate playing with others. :<
 
So how does this work? You get the name of your victim and have to kill it? What if you kill someone else?
 
The preload timer just clicked 0's all over a few minutes ago. Can't launch the game yet.

Heh. I'll make the HL2.net one. Maybe you guys can join it to let me know how well it runs? It'll probably still be sucky, and nothing compared to the speeds offered by faster internet.

Anybody know where to download the dedicated server file?

haven't played the new one yet but if it works like the old game, you'll get fined for killing inocents and your Psyche will go down a lot faster than if you kill your quarry.

it's a good idea to read the manual if you're new to this game as the gameplay is vastly different and more complex than other FPS-games.
 
Meh I can't get my dedicated server to show as visible <grunts>

So i'm just going to find a server to play on.

EDIT: Gah. I saw my mark the whole time, but I could never kill them. There were always at least 4 or 5 other people in the vicnity. Grrr. And so every time I drew my weapon, I'd get arrested anyways.

I take it the ol' restart Steam fix worked for you? Yeah, feel free to have a go at hosting a server. From the Arcade mode it looks like this game is a whole lot of fun that I didn't know about.


EDIT: Aw. What about the IP for direct joining?
 
I don't know if it'd be worth it. Doesn't seem like enough people have an interest.

I couldn't find my server anyways, and since its dedicated I couldn't play on it either with you guys.
 
The graphics aren't mind-blowing, but they're quite nice. I like how the jail looks. Probably the smoothest running Source game I've played.

It seems to play exactly the same as the HL1 mod apart from the inventory. Are there any other changes?
 
Hmm. For half the weekend I'm going to be making the money I need to buy a Wii. For the other half, I'm going to be partying my brains out. So if I can find some free time, maybe, but probably not.
 
I played it for a while, was pretty fun, kinda relaxing actually ;)

I don't quite get when do you get caught. Sometimes I kill my quarry in front of another player and nothing happens, but sometimes I get caught for doing that. Or is it a security camera down the corridor that catches me doing that?

I once killed someone in front of a barman and got away with it. Hmm...
