The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

Well, my dears. Suffice to say that as I write I'm drunk, but that's neither here nor there. No seriously.
I saw the Spongebb Squarepants film today and, although you may detect a slight bias I have to the program (although God kows why), it was absolutely f*cking amazing. I was terrified it would be an animated rape of something that I hold dear to my heart, but in the end it was all good. And HOW good. I honestly havcen't laughed that much at a film in ages.
In all fairness the last film that I saw at the cinema was Old Boy, and that's far from laugh a minute.
Whatever - a fabulous cinematic achievment. I salute you, Stephen Hillenberg.

I really want to see that movie. I hope it comes out on DVD soon. It's no longer in theatres where I am, and I don't want to pirate something as ingenious as Spongebob.

Nonsense, Spongebob's one of the best kids' cartoons for a long long time. Full of surreality and subversive humour (homoeroticism, slightly sexual jokes, drug references), it's just what kids need. Mwa-hahaha!


I'm not ashamed to say that I wore my Spongebob t-shirt to the cinema. Ooooh yeeeah.
