So I'm making a movie about the 7 hour war, and I was just wondering if I have the time line correct:

Resonance Cascade
Evacuation of facility
Army moves in
kills everything in way
realize the situation
stop killing, start collecting&cleaning up
Portals allow more things through
humans stand off with xen invaders
freeman kills xen king (that big baby)
vorts freed, join humans, see them as liberators
xen troops still programed to fight.
vorts and humans vs xen army
near victory, black mesa nuked
portalstorms happen, xen merges with Earth
Combine find out about earth
Xen life takes over wilderness
Humans enter cities
combine invade.



and also, just a few questions
-Should the army at any time start using tau cannons and other next-gen weapons instead of M16s during the combine invasion?
-If I'm right, doesn't Earth win against Xen, everyone's happy, then portalstorms rain on their parade and they must run away?
-should vorts fight along side humans during 7 hour war?

well, you say xen troops at the end of Half life (if you don't go through the portal) meaning that they were programed to fight. and not to mention the vorts say they were freed by freeman and fought on humans' side.

Just a logical guess there, but am I right?

A special forces branch of the marines. You're splitting incredibly thin hairs.

Another fact is: Eli Vance was the first human collaborator, says the Vortigaunt in Eli's lab. I believe the relationship between humanity and Vortigaunt race starts after the Combine invasion.

I assumed it was just valve being unfamiliar with the military. The red barret wearing troops call others and are called marines yet the corps has never worn such apparel.

hmmm, well they had contact for some time. 'd think they's join humanity the second they could. After the nhilan-a-watch-a-ma-call-it died, they were free. But we see at the end of half life that the xen soldiers are still fighting. so I don't know.

I think that is true but we cant take it for granted until someone say it HL-series.
