Titles Under Name?

OK,yeah,well,I know the board says post here if you need help IN-GAME but I didnt find any other board lol.Can anyone tell me what the titles under our usernames mean?Like,mine says "Scanner",what does that mean?How do you get a different title?

As your post count increases, the title under your name changes to bigger/more badass NPC's from the half-life world.

It means nothing
