I started playing Half-Life again, coz the frist time i rushed it oo much. I'm lookin for clues. I talked to a person on the train station and he said that the trains come here and depart full, but they never let anyone on. What is this about? Does anyone know. Any speculation?

Not sure what you're asking. "the trains come here and depart full, but they never let anyone on." ? It makes no shense.

I may be wrong but... I didn't find anyone with such a phrase?

"They're always leaving but they never arrive and the ones that arrive never leave and they're always leaving..."
Or someing like that. It's mainly supposed to freak out the player I'd say, but maybe it does reveal a little plot.

It does reveal a bit of the plot. I know this quote, but it's no near that trains come full and don't let anyone in. And he speaks by himself, you can't trigger a conversation with him...

Nah, the guy is just mad, there's nothing significant in what he's saying.

AFAIK there's broadly 2 categories of train going to/from c17. The passenger trains like you arrive on, and presumably they sometimes leave taking people to other cities, and then there's the Razor Trains to/from Nova Prospekt, carrying prisoners. It is one of these trains that Gordon is nearly getting on before Barney steps in.

Gabriel, do you have something else to say than just agreeing with others? :upstare:

The guy says "They're always leaving but they never arrive<...>", which means that those who depart never come back. Think Nova Prospekt. "<..>and the ones that arrive never leave". The same, only vice versa. Those who arrived, are forced to stay. Or, if you will, get killed. Just for the pure joy of the CPs', as shown in two scenes. The bloody chair, and the man who got called into the security office, though he got the relocation ticket and so on. That crazed man just lost it. He adds it to the atmosphere, and he does reveal the current situation a bit. Which is plot-related. :)

You know, just for the fun of it, I wanna noclip and get oj the other side of the fence. Barney will go mad. His AI wont cope. And then i wanna get all weapons and shoot them alll down and see how much chaos I can create in the first 5 minutes.

/starts HL2

I think he means that gabriel only just agreed in 5 posts. And please we arn't txtn, so please use proper English.

no he meant that i only had to read 5 more posts, when i only actually read the first one

Maybe City 17 is the last stop for most of these people. The Combine may be quarantining the last humans in possibly soon to be the last city to make way for new inhabitants.

There might be something like that, because, on the train schedule, there were trains to cities 17, 16, 15 etc, but nothing greater than number 17. So, I guess whoever goes to City 17 doesnt com eback. And also the people talk about getting transfered over n stuff.
Bu I dont think there's a city 18, coz City is like the capital, its got the Citadel and everything.

Oh by the way, I wanna go to one of the previous cities: 16 or 15 in HL3 . It might be interesting

I'm pretty sure there was a 30 in there. I think they all have Citadels.

Right. When HL2 got out, everyone wants to return to Black Mesa, which is in the different timeline. Now that it's time for HL3, everybody wants to visit places Valve teased us with in HL2 (the majority of gamers, from what I saw, wish to visit the wastelands, a few wish to visit other cities, another citadel, etc.), which are (or rather, will be) also in a different timeline than HL3. :upstare:

They all have Citadels? But there's only one Dr Breen 'residency'
I dunno. Where did u hear about the 30 cities?

I think there is a City 30 on the timetable. And the primary function of a Citadel is a factory/portal.

Perhaps smaller citadels. Not a big honking one like that the one in City 17.

What's wrong with the size of C17's one?

It’s obviously trying to make up for something.
Living in the south I know all about that…
Gigantic wheels, Flowmaster and with the Confederate battle flag waving off the back for the Pièce de Résistance.
Welcome to my world.
