Transferring HL2 to a newer computer

I have pre-ordered HL2 via steam, and it has downloaded.

However I am going to buy a newer, better computer on which to play HL2, can i log on to steam with my current user name, and download it again onto my new computer?

Or is my account intrinsically linked to the computer I have downloaded the game too at the moment?

No, you just log onto you're account and re-download the files. The game is linked to YOUR account NOT your computer.

Or you can just transfer your files from your old to your new computer. Sure beats downloading 3GB all over again....
