As you may know, this is my second track release (the first was trk_garage). This time I took a lot more care over gameplay, and the map is great fun to race on.
As you can see, the buggies themselves have been modded a bit. I thought that the two headlights and the rear light improved the look of the buggy. The buggies also come complete with internal stereo's, playing two of the soundtracks from the game.
The green lights on top of the buggies were added because once a player gets into a buggy, his model disappears and you cant tell the difference between an occupied and a vacant buggy. The green light is set to switch off as soon as a player gets into a buggy, and switch back on as he gets out.
If four cars isnt enough, theres a button on the left hand side of the track at the starting grid, which activates a lift bringing a further four buggies to the surface.
At the start grid there's a set of start lights. Use the buggies secondary fire (primary doesnt work) to shoot the button on the hanging sign to start the lights.
As for jumps, there are four in total, and the largest one takes a bit of practice to get over cleanly. To get it right, activate the turbo about half way down the run-up. With a bit of practice it's possible to pull off a complete 360* spin with a clean landing!
The map is beta because I'd like feedback on all of the features, and hopefully suggestions for improving them. So far I've only managed to have a 3 player race, because my connection is too slow to host any more players than this (128k upload). If anyone has a particularly fast connection, would they mind hosting a couple of games?
And finally, here's the download:
