unwanted counter on top of screen

when i now play any half life game i get a conter in the top right of my screen...i think its giving the frames per second count? i dont know how it gothere and i want to remove it ...please help someone...thanks in advance...phil

net_graph 0 or cl_showfps 0.

But yeah, net_graph (1/2/3) shows differen't types of fps/ping etc etc, cl_showfps #? is known to be inaccurate, but set both to 0 to disable em

hiya drackard...took a pic of ep 1 with the counter showing...went to the folder..opened the pic...no conter is showing on any of the 6 pics i took?;( ....this is beginning to look like a rougue codec problem...i vaguely remember having this problem or one similar with half life 1 or quake...pic added as attchment.

Could you perhaps describe it precisely, or if you have a good digital camera, take a picture with that of the screen.

Maybe you can use a picture capturing program like SnagIt. Here are a few freeware screencapturing programs: Link.
While SnagIt has an option that will capture pictures in games too, I dunno about these programs
