Usage of Valve Content for non-comerisal use (school assignment)

I have some questions regarding the usage of Valves content, because i dont want to get in trubble with copy right and that stuff.


I use Valves content such as music, sounds, textures, voices etc, for different classes in my school. For example is Computer Animation, sometimes i use Hl2 music on my movies and sound effects from Half-life2 etc.

Is this ok? Because im not making a profit of it, only a Grade!

As long as you don't distribute it to people who don't own HL2 I think it's fine.

Kind of the same situation teachers are often put in when they show a video clip from a movie or the whole movie to a class for educational purposes.

Or copy a page from a copyrighted book, which happens probably at the very least 30 or so times every day in a single school.

Schools actually pay for this.
And when I say pay, I don't mean "pay per copy" or even individual payments by each and every school. It may be different around the world, but where I live there is currently a feud between the educational system and the organisation representing (i assume written) intellectual property-owners. If the feud is not solved in an amiable way there may be a timeperiod during which educational facilities (that do not pay per copy, which some universities actually do) must end all copying of copyrighted material.
Obviously, students may copy freely.
