if even 1% of the people who frequent these boards were to divert their time spent here to something worthwhile, imagine what kind of place this world would be. cancer would be cured. world peace.

it must be nice to have so much free time to waste on a game that hasnt even been given a release date. send me some money or something.

*hl2 is released*

Bah, screw cancer, back inside!

Hmmm, well I appreciate what your trying to do an all...

But HL2 has pretty much become my second hobby.

Its something I do for fun and to pass the time.

Yeah like mostly 13-20 year olds can cure cancer......How about you divert your time spent here if you're so worried about it. Stop telling other people to do something else when they don't have to listen to you.

We dont talk about half life 2 all the time anyway, a lot of us just go onto off topic or discuss hardware problems or something like that. I rarely go into the hl2 discussion area.

well i admit i could be doing my art homework, which i am falling behind on :|

Haha! I've done my art exam already...
I only got a C at GCSE...you saying im a bad artist? :P

Anyway yeah....where were we? oh yeah, communism.

I got an A at GCSE, and I spraypainted two transformers with metallic car spray... but I justifyed it :D

I just didn't do any annotation....the teacher said my work was interesting but the fact i had about 3 pictures for each module let me down. If it had been developed then i could have done better...sadly i didn't learn my lessons and i am now more than likely going to do poorly in my A levels.

Haha i think we are the same person hehe. i dont exacly the same as you. My A level art work was so bad im probly going to fail, TBH its becuase i hates it, and i didnt like the way it was done, i hate having to do mixed media on everything, stylize it ahg, and my teacher was a bitch, didnt give me any help or point me in the right direction.

My teacher left a couple of months before the exam...heh, that happened in school as well.

Anyway, i find A level art very constrictive, because it doesn't let you do what you want. Having to annotate things as well, just so a moderator knows why you did it is annoying as well. I like developing my own ideas, and although you can do that to an extent, its still too rigid. You have to do X amount of tonal drawings, you have to X amount of media experiments and X amount of expriments with texture etc. I just want to draw pictures and see where i can take them, not have someone tell me what i should draw next.

you analyse people's paintings just like you analyse someone's piece of writing or analyse a piece of software or analyse a piece of electronic equipment. you pick it apart, poke it a bit, and see what makes it tick. that way you can learn how it was made, and hopefully use those techniques in your own work.

well that's the theory behind that sort of learning. but teachers rarely make it interesting or even tell the students why they're doing it. i suppose it's just jumping through hoops to get the grade.

i got a B in GCSE art. went through about 17 sketchbooks throughout the two years, filled it up with anything and everything i could find. even if it's bullshit stick it in. i had lots of filler, and very few actual fully completed pieces.

anyway, on topic....i'd rather the kids stay at home and post on these boards than have then running around beating up old grannies and doing illegal things (as opposed to software piracy  )
