We know you probably flew into a rage when a recent Title Update denied you a few precious seconds of Metro 2033 play time, but we've been assured by developer 4A Games that it's all for a good cause: To prepare for upcoming DLC

multiplayer would be impossible and that "it won't be new SP narrative content, 'missing levels' or anything like that - it's something we're only just starting production on."

Most awesome game ever made (recently at least) is just going to get more awesome. I wonder what it'll be...

weapons/enemies?

improvement to existing game mechanics (eg. crappy stealth system)?

Absolutely no need for a separate thread.

Funny, given one of the devs at 4A Games originally said they weren't interested in making any DLCs as far as I am aware.

I'd rather they just get straight to work on making Metro 2034.;)

They weren't expecting the game to be so successful at first point. I mean they left GSC to make their own game, they went through a long production. It took them a lot of time to release the game. I'm glad it turned out good.

I didn't know there was Metro 2034.

Metro 2034(the novel) just came out last year.

P.S. I'm well aware of 4A Games history, I've been following Metro 2033 since its announcement in '06.

Same, I still have the early screenshots on my USB.

Am I a bad man for kinda hoping that they'd do a more open-ended game set in the Metro 2033 'universe'? The potential for awesomeness is epic, with a detailed accurate Moscow metro system, lots of exploration to do, and hidden bases like D6 etc.

Yeah, that was the first thing wanted to do, but ended up making a linear shooter. I guess making a such game was a huge task for the team, so they went with other style - seeing how Stalker is buggy to date, I can say they did the right choice for their game. I wonder how much they spent on the development.

Sadly, this is all the info available atm.

Absolutely no need for a separate thread.

Thread made for news and updates on the DLC.

Well there's a book, there should be a game too.

Metro 2034 will probably need to be translated before a game is really a thought.

Glad they didn't, I really dunno how much content would've had to be cut, or how much the graphics had to be turned down just so it would look pretty in every environment.

Would be cool if the DLC adds a sandbox (ie, STALKEResque) mode. I need to get this game at some point in the near future.

The game is already shaved domn significantly, compared to the book.
