LOLOLOLOLOLOL first of all doom 3 isnt all that great. there are so many things unexplaind why is everyone turning into zombies exept me? and why do i only have a flash light no state of the art night vision from a rich ass company? you only get a flash light in the year 2030 and you cant eaven carry it at the same time as you're gun, so when you see a monster you turn your flash light off and then you cant see the monster anymore!!! sure it was scarry for the first half hour then after awhile monsters became predictable where they would spawn at.Pitbul said:ah once again, VALVe lets down there so called "prized" community...Nice. Doom 3 fans actually get there game (and its amazingly fun) and HL2 fans get more delays and freakin screenshots. THATS TOTALLY AWESOME LOLOLOLoloolololzzz!!!11. Seriously, the effort and detail on every bit of artwork and the engine and everything is exquisite (Yes, I'm starting to defend Doom 3 because I feel bad for iD).
Just somehow it doesn't... meld together to make the type of incredible gameplay some people imagined. I tried to warn the people who were waiting for Doom 3, but nobody listened.
That said I think it is the scariest game I've ever seen. Maybe too scary for me
Well no doubt they will make a shed load of money, and they fully deserve it judging by the effort they have put in.![]()
Fixed said:Yes, pretty much every game gets delayed however most developers won't keep bullshitting about the release date again and again and again.
GPRT said:What bullshitting have valve done?? They only ever gave one firm release date. September 30th 2003. After they realised that is unachievable they have not given a firm release date just estimates and predictions.

ValveBULGE said:Firm release? How firm do they have to get? I think what most of us want is complete silence from valve until the game is finished! period! instead of lies! how many times will they say something only to delay it?
Let me put it this way! last year I bought the video card with half-life 2. If Valve is making a commitment to do a deal with ATI and plans to release the game in fall of 2003 and nothing happens well ok something could have gone wrong but not the same thing over and over. First, "we are targeting holiday release" then it was spring, summer, now the Cs source is delayed. WTF? something is wrong here, I supported valve by buying product from ATI (valve makes money from it). Which means they already have my money and I need to see some results, or do I? for the love of god at least don't lie and twist me like twinky!

I didn't have to sell my car and murder some people to recoup my "losses" from Valve not releasing the game on Sept. 30th
ValveBULGE said:Delays are bad enough but what's really bad is the fact that VALVE does not communicate very well with it's audience. I can understand that there will be delayes, yes it happens but, come forward and tell us like it is, give us some decent explanation and what's next. Right now we have no clue what is what will be and when it will be... Is it really that hard to do that? to communicate with the people that pay your bills?

I completely agree. People are just complaining because they get this weird idea that what Valve has done (delay) has never been done before and that as a result Valve is automatically some sort of sick twisted company that doesn't deserve any customers.lans said:What are you on about - valve communicates with us more than any developer should - on a normal basis. Isn't it enough?
When id goes into hibernation mode - they don't even reveal anything to the community, but only once things are done, did they come out. Valve are good enough to keep a check on us once in a while - ands there is ALMOST EVERY WEEK some new news/media from them: either about cs:s or HL2. This is their way of communicating with the community - giving shreds of info in some way or the other.
I don't think its normal for game developers to announce the status of their RC's so I don't think we will be hearing anything more. There could be alot of RC's so its not a good idea for a game development company to reveal the status of them to the public lest they end up with people hating them because they said that they had a release candidate but they have to re-work some things.jabberwock95 said:BTW, We know CS: S is delayed (at least the preload), but has there been any word on the HL2 RC?

If you believe that 100% of Valve's marketing is lies, why would you believe average people on the internet?
Plus, Valve isn't leaving anyone in the dark. They're being quite clear about when they are trying to get things done and, except for that one time on Sept 30th, they are clear about when they are delaying something that they overestimated.

Grow up people, they do talk to us, they made a mistake in the past (OH NOES LETS LIKE HATE THEM NOW!!11!), they aren't the scourge of the game development business. Get over it.
Mr-Fusion said:I'm just annoyed they don't say why it was delayed. They've told us virtually every single thing that's in HL2 through emails yet a delay reason has to be kept quiet.
It won't hurt anyone to give a reason.
