what are the combines?

Ive notaced that all the compine vechiles except the tank and hunter chopper seem to be half alien half machien. SO would that mean that the Combine are also half alien half human / machien.
If any of you have ever heard of a singel playor mod calles Azur Sheep. they have the soldiers in black mesa capturing humans and aliens and combineing them togeather to form one ugly alien/human that could live forever. If you pay attention to what the administrator says on the giant screens in the begining, he claims that for the 1st time imortality is a possability for humans

arent headcrabs from Xen.
then how would that explain the headcrabs being 'harnested" and used by the combine to zombify citys such as ravan claw

On the homepage of this site, they have a diagram of what the combine is.. It's a figure that shows an apes head, then humans, then combine..

One thing is for certain, they are aliens, and they are a superior race to humans.. I beleive they are engineered Xen beings.. They are from Xen (where the headcrabs and such are from)..

They're from another dimension. They enslave other dimensions (incl. Xen) and integrate their technology into their own. Sort of like Borg...

The combine are Alien, and are as others have stated from another Dimension. You never actually come across a single combine in the game (except in breens office and the reactor control room.

The Overwatch soldiers are humans upgraded with combine tech, the combine go around planets/dimensins enslaving races and merging them into thier race...
