This is a call-out to all the people who donate to MOD teams and other related things.

I've donated $20 to Natural-Selection and recently $10 to Sven CoOp.

To be honest, I'd feel a little weird donating money to a MOD. I don't feel that there's much satisfaction that you can get out of doing so. There's also a bunch of stability and security issues revolving around donating money as well. Such as will the money actually go towards the MOD or will it just be going into someone's pockets. The creators/developers creating a MOD aren't looking for money (otherwise they'd have charged a fixed amount for you to play). They're doing it for fun, to show off their artistic ability, and essentially provide a service to the community. Giving money to the creators of a MOD is not the same as giving money to the hungry or the homeless. Yes the creators likely deserve something for their efforts, but there's a lot more deserving people out there who need the cash more.


But WhiteZero, you're very generous to be donating $30 to the two that you mentioned. :)

I donated maps to Zombie Master.
 
I've not previously donated because I didn't have a means of financial transactions outside of my parents, and I know they'd give me odd looks and forbid it. But I intend to do so in the future. Who wouldn't like an electric crowbar in their Sven Coop, eh? :)

I'd rather dontate money to a new mod team who are still working on a great mod idea, like Black Mesa: Source, although I haven't, and probably won't be donating.

I'm sorry, but saying "I donated sperm once" in a thread like this is just idiotic. Pure and simple and far from inappropriate use of insult.

And destrukt, you know that isn't what we're talking about here, so stop dicking around. Unless you actually "payed" for them before they were retail and still 3rd part MODs.
 
If someone donates to a mod team, then that's their business, not yours. Asking who donated is such a retarded question. Really, why would you care what another donated?

It's a general question that dosent require sometime to answer it.
Like I've already said 100 times now, it's just an inquiry to those who support what they get to play for free.

I never claimed it to be "my business" so don't assume as such.
And how is it retarded other that your own close-minded view?

I'd appreciate it if people stop trying to critsize my thread. If you don't like the idea of it, it's very simple to tap the "Back" button on your browser and just ignore it instead of putting yourself out to be a jackass.

If you stopped retalliating to people that have replied with a so called "idiotic" answer then they wouldn't keep doing it as they know it seems to be winding you up, just ignore the ones that are annoying you and let it be.
 
I donated time and effort into playing Zombie master on a regular basis.

Uh... yah? You know how all of them have that little "Donate" banner?

Teams of people put their time and work into developing a game for other to enjoy. Not to mention the bandwidth cost for running and site and fourms.

Also, for example, donating to the Natural-Selection team is helping them get their developemnt company, Unknown Worlds, off the ground.

While im posting, I havn't donated, the little money that i have, but I do see the point in it all. People put there time into a mod for free run a website for free etc... I'm just happy that some people donate to these guys. Getting money is actually probably just a real encouragement to continue working on the mod. Knowing someone actually loves what you do so much that they are willing to give you money without being forced to must be very satisfying and encouraging.


So to all those who've donated, thank you for supporting the modders out there!
 
I donated my time and oxygen in my lungs to mods, and I still am open for buisness (just look at the wanted/offered forum :))

It would have to be a reeeaally impressive mod to get me to donate...and no I haven't before...
