so I don't feel like listening to the same old stuff for the third time (playing this time on hard) so I noclip past the energy field and continue on while these guys talk for an hour. So I get by where you finally get the sawblade weapon and the warehouse full of zombies and it keeps giving me a message that I failed to protect someone! WTF. So I kept on hearing the sniper go off but not on the zombies, so I noclip up there to where the sniper is, turns out the sniper is shooting THE VORITGAUNT AND KILLING HIM. There is NOTHING using the gun just a blacked out area, but I try to go ahead and kill the sniper and wala.

no, alyx is supposed to be sniping from there, at the zombies, not Mr.Vort. Or maybe it's supposed to be like that but since Vort probably stays behind the sniping area normally he doesn't get shot. Either way it's funny that they used a 'friendly' (at least to Gordon D:,) invisible combine who likes to spray his area black. And I guess another one spawns because the shots then kept coming on the zombies.

heh, near the end right when the portal was closed, I noclipped to where the combines come from and I shot them about a thousand times and soon they stopped making their pain noises (kinda unique, you don't hear it in the game if you don't do this). So then I go back and basically you just hear the dialogue with Alyx in this position.
