Society's future moto will be-
War Is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
Orwell will be right, just you wait! Big Brother is watching you!
Hey Danimal, is there some way to squeeze a fourth "Other" option into the poll? I think it's necessary. It better be Tex Murphey-esque.
Otherwise people die.
As a citizen of Australia I support this.whereby the countries in the Southern Hemisphere become rich and powerful
As a citizen of Australia I support this.
I agree. when all other nations are too busy nuking one another in the future as well as possible plague outbreaks, meteor strikes, robotic overlords, etc. everyone from the Southern Hemisphere including the Australians are just gonna sit back and be like, WTF? :E I think you people are gonna be the lucky ones myself. As a citizen of Australia I support this.

well you think of the last 100 years and we've advanced tremendously. who'd of thought man could land on the moon 100 years ago? and cars are becoming more advanced each year with solar cars on the horizon. their making robots for the disabled so they can move stuff by using their mind. the future has no limits. kinda scary how man are advancing so fast..
Do tell, and have you? I found the Wiki link for that novel. The Martian Chronicles Am I reading this right though? Did they really think that we would be able to colonize Mars around today's timeframe when the original book was published?:OPsh, you OBVIOUSLY never read Martian Chronicals.
That's funny.A 1997 edition of the book advances all the dates by 31 years (thus running from 2030 to 2057), includes The Fire Balloons and replaces Way in the Middle of the Air (a story less topical in 1997 than in 1950) with the 1952 short story The Wilderness, dated May 2034 (equivalent to May 2003 in the earlier chronology).
Do tell, and have you?
We should probably teach Ethics in school.
"ethical nihilism"
Isn't that an oxymoron of sorts?
Isn't that moral relativism?
I don't think technology will create a utopia, because if it could then it already would have.
Advancing technology takes a lot of time, it's not something that happens overnight.
We as a species have only made significant technological advancements in the past six thousand years or so. Assuming we don't destroy ourselves, we have potentially millions of years in which our species can advance itself to a utopian state.
I agree. Why does everyone always associate technology with computers, robots, space exploration etc. among other related futuristic shit? The discovery of cement mortar was an advancement in technology. As well as all the discoveries made during the bronze age. Hell, when humans first appeared, sticking a leaf over your crotch to hide one's genitals was an advancement in technology.A small change to make something better for something is still an advancement.
I's say about 10,000 years, as opposed for 6 thousand.
It's about how long H.S.S. has been around. We ushered in the mesolithic alone.![]()
Ahh yeah, probably closer to 10,000 years. I'll admit I pulled that "6,000 years" figure out of my ass![]()
Congratulation genius scientists of HL2.net! You've just discovered the formula for finding the correct age of the human race!:Just add 40,000 years then you get the correct answer.
Cool we should alert a scientific journal.Congratulation genius scientists of HL2.net! You've just discovered the formula for finding the correct age of the human race!:
6,000B.C. + 4,000B.C.= 10,000B.C. + 40,000B.C. = 50,000 B.C.!!!! You guys done it! I never though it was possible but you guys have solved a decades old debate in only ten minutes! Holy cow! Don't we have some "Ivy League" talent up in here or what?!?!

Humans started using tools almost immediately though:What? That's when humans first started using stone tools.

How many years have humans technically existed though? I'm wondering if it was over 100,000 thousand years ago.10'000 years ago was the agricultural revolution guise.
